Anjana Kothamachu

Concept note with the project proposal:

The human body is a shared entity by the whole of human kind; it is a polymorphous article that is the locus of human existence, forming the essence of human identity and experience. Our knowledge of the outside world is ruled by our physical modes of perception.

Utilizing the human physicality as the source, the work that I propose to make are a set of voluptuous sculptures composed of cloth stitched on to a wire frame work coated with textural materials like plaster paris, saw dust, red clay etc. The form calls out to the corporal existence of the body, overwhelming the viewer with its volume while simultaneously tantalizing the onlooker to touch.
